🏈📣 Marlboro Youth Football & Cheerleading – Fall Tackle and Cheer 2026
Our Fall Tackle Football & Cheerleading Program is designed to provide young athletes with a structured, competitive, and rewarding experience while emphasizing teamwork, discipline, and personal growth both on and off the field.
Football Divisions
Mighty Mite Football
- Age: 5, 6 & 7 years old on or before 11/1
- Weight Limit: 120 lbs (123.9 max with digital scale)
- No play downs from Division 1 allowed
Division 1 Football
- Age: 8 and 9 years old on or before 11/1 of the current calendar year
- Weight Limit: 125 lbs + 3lbs for pants (128.9 max with digital scale)
- Only players listed on the official, OCYFL board-approved roster are eligible to play
Division 2 Football
- Age: 10 and 11 years old on or before 11/1 of the current calendar year
- Weight Limit: 142 lbs (145.9 max with digital scale / 145.0 on medical scale)
- Only players on the OCYFL board-approved roster who make weight are eligible to play
Cheer Divisions
Mighty Mite Cheer
- Age: 5, 6 & 7 years old on or before 11/1
Division 1 Cheer
- Age: 8 and 9 years old on or before 11/1 of the current calendar year
Division 2 Cheer
- Age: 10 and 11 years old on or before 11/1 of the current calendar year
Equipment & Uniforms
🏈 Football Equipment
All registered football players are provided with certified equipment that meets current safety standards.
Players will receive:
- Helmet and chin strap
- Shoulder pads
- Practice jersey
- Game pants and practice pants
All issued equipment must be returned at the end of the season.
Parent Responsibility:
- Mouthpiece
- Athletic supporter/cup
- Cleats
- Practice socks
Game jerseys are provided as part of the program and may be kept by players at the end of the season (if applicable).
📣 Cheer Uniforms
Cheerleaders are provided with program-issued uniforms and gear for the season.
Items may include:
- Cheer uniform (top and skirt)
- Pom-poms
- Additional spirit wear or accessories (varies by season)
Certain items may be required to be returned at the end of the season.
Parent Responsibility:
- Cheer shoes
- Socks
- Required undergarments
Coaching & Safety
Marlboro Youth Football & Cheerleading is proud to be a member of the Orange County Youth Football League (OCYFL).
- Football coaches are trained and certified through USA Football, including Heads Up Football training
- Coaches meet league requirements, including background checks and safety certifications (First Aid/CPR/AED)
- Cheer coaches are trained in proper technique, safety, and age-appropriate skill development
- All divisions follow OCYFL rules and game standards
Player safety is our top priority at all levels of participation.
Practices & Training Camp
The season begins with mandatory training camp starting August 1st.
August (Pre-Season):
- Monday through Friday but may vary based on division/coach availability
- Typically 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
- Focus on conditioning, fundamentals, and team development
In-Season (After School Begins):
- 3–4 weekday practices depending on division
- Practice times typically remain 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
- Coaches may schedule additional walkthroughs or adjustments as needed
⚠️ Practice schedules may change due to weather or field conditions. Football is a rain-or-shine sport when conditions are safe.
Games & Season Structure
- Season begins in early September
- Teams play up to 8–9 regular season games
- Games are held on weekends (Saturday or Sunday)
- Home games are played at Marlboro High School
- Away games are played throughout Orange County
The season may extend into:
- Playoffs (based on standings)
- Mighty Mite Bowl (for youngest division)
Cheerleading Performances
Cheerleaders are an essential part of the game day experience and will:
- Perform at football games
- Participate in halftime routines and sideline cheering
- Attend special events and league activities
Additional opportunities may include:
- Cheer showcases or competitions
- End-of-season events and celebrations

- Attendance at practices is critical for both safety and development
- Teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect are core values of our program
- Parent involvement and support play a key role in creating a positive experience for all athletes
